macao day 8 + 9

5 feb - HK day
today we all woke up super early at daybreak to get ready to go to HK. after some frantic packing and rushing, we made it to the ferry terminal to take a 45min ride to HK. upon reaching HK, the mood was drastically changed from macau as the city buzzed with noise and people. well, it's a busy and hectic place compared to sleepy town macau.

anyways, to cut the long story short, we walked around but didn't buy much cuz most of the things were the same price as SG. we went to jordan area cuz S + G got a hotel room there. then we went to tsim sha tsui area to hunt down some lunch and found this come cooked indian food thing that was amazingly nice - we had butter chicken, some curry lamb something and some grilled lamb something else. after which, we went to starbucks for coffee then went to take a slow walk around HK to take a look. after much walking, G+S went back to the room to sleep while the rest of us continued our walking around. we didn't buy anything, but i got myself a hp battery for my phone which seriously died and couldn't be revived no matter how much i charged it. the new batt cost me HKD68. we ended up at macs to rest and grab a drink and then went back to meet up with G+S for dinner. but they were so tired and S was still in bed. so in the end, the rest of us decided to go back to macao since there was no actual plans and i think everyone was really exhausted.

we made our way back, relieved in a way, and i think it was also good that G+S didn't feel obligated to come out with us while they're so out of it. upon getting back to macao, we got home, showered and changed and met AM and D and something other people at MGM for drinks and supper and we chatted till almost 6 before we went home. AM would have to wait for 7am to get back home (border gates open then).

during this trip, we went to macs for a couple of meals and the prices are pretty much comparable to sgp pricing. i wonder how the locals afford it considering i think they make less than singaporeans on the whole. i think macs is really getting expensive, but popular. they have a great marketing strategy! anyways, they have more on the menu here for both macs and macafe, and many outlets are also running 24hours. KFC seems to have more on the menu too, but i didn't have a chance to try when i went to HK, and i didn't see any in Macao. anyways, i took a pic for momento. on the left is a medium sized macs coke cup. see the little cup on the right? it's strawberry milkshake for HKD5/MOP5 (S$1). isn't it cute? i wish they had this in sgp. little doses of happiness =)

6 feb - a day of rest (finally!!!)
cuz we got back late last nite, i slept at 10am and only woke up at 5pm. it feels so good to finally get some proper sleep. G + S are not around, so i got the opportunity to stay home today and get some much needed rest and peace. phew! i cooked dinner and stayed in all day long, only popping out to the supermarket for milk and bread. spend all day online chatting with EH, surfing, watching TV and eating. this is what i call enjoyment. i had a wonderful day but strangely, time flew and it's now 2am. i shall keep this post short and attempt to get to bed asap, cuz i need to wake up early tmr. nite nitez folks! =)
